A canadian local (AKA user name BIRD) ran his full weight GN with T-Tops and working AC to a 9.68@139.93mph. Then got booted for having no cage. Awesome job Rich. You are the man He was running 10.01 @136mph with a 70 P-trim turbo and changed over to a 70GTQ. Basic run down is:
GN1 alumimums
70GTQ
83lb
FAST system
front mount
200R4 with transbrake
210 hydr roller
stock block, crank and rods with no girdle, stock driveshaft and posi:eek:
not sure of the boost. He said he still has more left in that turbo. has not maxed it out yet.
hooked a 1.43 sixty foot. 1/8 mile was 6.192 @ 112.87mph

Holy Sh** thats moving, WOW.

You think i could go that past with a p-trim or would i have to switch to q trim. ?

this is a little hard to swallow with stock bottom end, stock caps, stock crank stock pistons and rods but if he is doing it more power to him, i believe it when the motor is taken apart and i see all the stock parts that come out of it. :)

wiked87gn- Read it again, nobody said he had stock pistons. He has 2 steel main caps and ARP fasteners.

you need to repost the linky to turbobuicks about the build on his motor linky not worky maybe thats why i didn't read it..

139+ is flat haulin with a 70 GTQ. Not trying to take away from anyones accomplishment but I have to ask what do you consider to be a "full weight" car?

Neal

the car weighs 3400 plus 200 for me, helmut and laptop, 3600lb race weight. all working options, a/c, power everything, no fiberglass, t-roofs. the only thing that gets removed for the dragstrip is the stereo, spare tire and jack which is 100 lbs. the car weighs about 3700lbs in street trim.

That's smokin!!

Keep up the good work! Do you have plans to upgrade the rotating assembly? I'm sure you already know that you're on borrowed time with the stock crank and rods.

this little shortblock owes me nothing. its been beat on for 6 years of mid to low tens (now nines)with just a refresh for peace of mind. when it goes then i will upgrade. im pretty confident it still has some life left

dam out of a 70 gtq huh, that is kick ass! And an old style bank to bank F.A.S.T. system nice!!
Crazy with still no cage, wow!!!!

blows a 67 away aye?

Yeah, BUT.......with the Canadian exchange rate that works out to a 10.86 @ 128.6 ;)

Just kidding, GREAT run! Good luck with the internals! The tuning must be SPOT-on to keep the rods from bending. Keep up the good work!
