Well, I don't seem to have much luck with Turbo Buicks and due to some family issues I am forced to part with my car. I'm throwing in the Buick towel for a while apparently. I must be cursed!
This is a STREET car, not a race car. It has top of the line parts and no expense was spared building this car. The car is Turn-key.
You wanna go racing with it then slap a cage in it but it was built to be a street car with working A/C and Heat. I have owned it for (2) two years now and bought it with 16k miles. I drove it home and recently drove it on some back roads near Otto's shop. It's quite Brutal! It still has 16k miles on it. Rides stock like. No rust, no issues.
It has the original paint which is in excellent condition and has been kept indoors its entire life.
This car was a two year build that finished recently and a lot of time and aggravation went into it. I wanted to do something a little different and unique yet functional.
JW Racing in Seymour Connecticut performed the fabrication JW Racing Fabrication LLC - Seymour CT and Otto at Otto's Performance Home Page in Milford Connecticut wired, built and tuned the car.
Don Cruz Built the motor. It came out of his TSM car that he went 9.20's @ 150 mph I believe. It is completely fresh with maybe (5) miles on it.
The car is Dark Metallic Blue / Blackout with a dark blue interior. It has an Astro roof that works flawlessly. Instant open and shut just like it was new. It is a factory lightweight with roll up windows and no power seats. I specifically looked for a car with roll up windows so I didn't have to deal with the windows never sealing correctly with wind noise and the motors crapping out.
All rubber seals are in near perfect condition. The chrome is near perfect as well. Spare tire still in trunk and never even removed to my knowledge.
It also is very rare. It has chrome mirrors with a blackout package. They made a mistake in the factory I was told because the RPO code indicates a Blackout package with crome mirrors so it is correct. Dennis Kirban advised me of this and stated there was probably less then (10) that came out of the factory like that. The interior is near flawless and very neat. No wires and guages hanging all over the place.
AMS 1000 is mounted in a custom CNC made bracket that fits perfectly in the dash. The Alky is also mounted in the dash at EYE level directly in front of you. XFI is custom mounted at the kick panel flush. Rare Buick Motorsports 10k Tach with key attachment also mounted in the dash. Electric Transbrake is discretely mounted on the side of the center console.
The rear seats still fit perfectly fine after the Mini-Tub. One of the cleanest Mini-Tub's I have ever seen with a supporting brace. It's much stronger then it was from the factory and you can tuck a very large tire under it as I did with a MT 325/50 DR on a 10 inch rim with a 4 7/8 BS.
I wanted a 140k speedo to see how fast I was actually going while driving.... and found one with 16k miles and swapped it. I still have the original if someone wants to put it back in.
The car has a custom made 3.5 stainless in DP with an external Tail 44 mm WG with TRUE cold air forced induction that is powercoated black with a removable filter. It fits in the one piece air dam. The up pipe and intercooler pipes are custom made to get better air flow and to also clear the hood liner so it does not rub.
The Turbo was mounted in a unique location so there would be less restriction down the DP where the elbow is. Pipes were powercoated silver. It has a custom made dual breather tank with a drain on the bottom of it with a small valve that opens and closed to empty it. No mess. That too was powdercoated silver. Accufab clamshell clamps secure the pipes together for a neat appearance.
The water lines are also custom. Alky lines are custom made in stainess and are placed in a slighyly different location then usual for a cleaner appearance. Hoses are black lightweight Russell with black fittings.
Underside Coated With POR 15.
We dynoed the car the other night and these were the results:
At 27 PSI it made 622 rwhp.
At 28 PSI it made 651 rwhp.
At 29 PSI it made 680 rwhp.
We ran race gas to be safe but it will run just fine at 27-28 PSI on pump Gas/Alky. It was still climbing rapidly. Car was tuned at Otto's Performance.
So it's making about 30 rwhp per PSI. Bison as well as Don Cruz say it will go well beyond 35 PSI easily and stay together all day long. Don went 9.20 with this motor so do the math. Anything over 600 rwhp tho is pretty much useless on the street imo but these big tires do hook up well.
