Just seen this car yesterday and it is just stupid clean. There isn't even surface rust where there should be on a thousand mile Michigan car. Besides the little foam filter on the wastegate solenoid being crumbled and a little grease on the valve covers, this car looks like it was just assembled. I'm soo jealous.
The owner "restored" the suspension and other parts of the car and painted it all black ... due to all the surface rust ... not pretty and to be that brings down the overall value on such a clean car otherwise ... when we pointed it out to him he did not take it the right way I'm afraid. Plenty of nicer low mileage TTAs out there for much less money.

did you see the car in person? I didn't see any under side pics in the auction listing. He claims it is 1/110 cars at Indy....not sure if that means much. Were there really 110 TTA's at Indy?
And with regards to the 1 of 110 not sure where they got that from as we told him/them and pointed to the correct information that there were 150 in total (+ the 3 real pace cars) and that No 108 would have been used for press assignments possibly however with the low mileage on it most likely not; and it would not been part of the festival or drivers parade either...
Where did you get the "owner restored the under carriage." from? And how did you point the restoration out to the owner? As in he had no clue he did it himself? Like it all happened while he was sleep walking? lol. Or are you meaning he purposely omitted telling you guys but you spotted it anyhow, then told him you knew? I don't get it. He told me, besides the clean up and wax job that it's in as found condition...
When we saw the pictures of the undercarriage it was clear parts been painted black (suspension parts etc) and we posted and asked the owner over on turbotransam.com and he told us that yes he had taken stuff apart and painted it and did not try to do a proper factory restoration or anything which we questioned and he got a bit upset about it in the end ..... so more than just a clean and wax .... some of the posts over there been deleted by the owner (you can delete your own posts but not anyone elses posts) ...
Head over to turbotransam.com and do a search ... and ask the question over there and others can confirm this for you as well.
All it takes is take a look at the pictures the owner posted per links above and you can tell straight away it's not as it came from the factory so the rust must been bad or there would have been no need to take stuff apart and paint it all black ...
Ahhh I see. Yea, I didn't fully believe him either. There's no way a car can sit in a barn for years untouched, and not have any bad rust on the bottom. No way. Not havin' it. Ahh well, at any rate it's still a super nice car but I'm not sure it's worth 55 grand. No way.
