97 explorer sohc

can anyone answer my question? i have a 97 explorer transmission that was rebuilt approximently 13000 miles ago,
and it has run great since then now you can drive forward and you would never know anything was wrong.
but went you put it into reverse the engine wants to die. Sometimes does can you tell me what that would
most likely be please Thank you

SOHC? i thought the V8 exploders had 302's in them.

Maybe the engine rocking over is opening up a electrical or vacumn connection, cracked inlet piping between mass air sensor and throttle body? good luck.
