A/C Alternator Bracket

Aloha,
I got my A/C Alternator bracket in about 2 weeks ago for my T-Type, from Mike of M&M Motorsports. The bracket bolted right on. But when it came to bolting on the accesories, only the alternator couldnt reach the slide adjustment post. The A/C compressor fit right on, could the bracket be warped, or do I have the wrong alternator?

Hey Chris....you gotta mess with the alt a bit. Move it around...it goes on like this...

Bolts to bracket on the left side (looking at it from the front) and the adjustment bolt goes thru the slider potion from the back side of the bracket and then thru the alt.

Here's a pic...thats way easier then fumbling thru trying to explain to ya.

I kinda tried doing that...

Its either the Alternator is too small or the bracket some how got warped. No matter how much I tried to Fiddle with it, it still comes up short. I tried to see if the old alternator (also refurbished) fit onto the bracket..that came up short too. One thing I do recall, once I blew the waterpump and I had to loosen up the accesories, I noticed that the bolt end towards the AC comp swiveld, i thought that was normal then. Till one day i heard a clanky sound, and the belts screeching more. I looked where the brackets were mounted, and it was broken in three places. anothing I recall was, on the alternator side, the longer bolt of the 3 that bolted the bracket down was missing. Maybe the previous owner broke the bracket?..I dont know. Though I will try again when I get home from work. Thanks again!!

Sounds like you have an N/A bracket. They n/a and turbo cars use different size alternators. I'd give Mike a call and tell him you have the wrong bracket.
