I'm looking to put the A/C delete on my car. Is it a GM part? Or is it aftermarket? I have seen some people say something about a S-10 part they used. If it's a GM part whats the #?

Thanks,
Scott

I believe the S10 part others speak of is the pulley that takes the place of the ac compressor. Ya still need a pulley in place of it.

Scott:

Yes, it carries a GM parts number and it can be found at the gnttype.org site. I ordered one from Cotton's a couple of weeks ago, and I'm sure he has them in stock. Don't forget you'll need a shorter belt too.

Did you experience more engine shake after you
installed the pulley? I installed one not long ago and
I think my engine vibrates more now..much more.

Good luck finding a belt!!!

For some people with the A/C delete, a 635K6 belt will be short enough, but not for me. I need a 630K6 so I will have to order it. You can NOT find a 630K6 in the store, at least not around here!

Alex:

No, not that I'm aware of. I really don't see why/how you would have more movement. Did you transfer all of the stock brackets from the compressor to the pulley? I think there are two (2) brackets to move. There is the little "L" shaped one on the back that goes to the manifold bolt and the "Y" looking one that goes on the front. Maybe one of those is missing and that's what you're talking about. I hope that helps.

Scott:

From gnttype.org => Air Conditioner, delete bracket/pulley (4.3L S-10 pickup) 10118713. Use Dayco belt #5060610.

Yeahh i left one bolt off, the one that goes in the back
of the alternator. I'll try swaping everything back and see if
that helps. Thanks Scott

3 brackets!

Alex:

Not trying to beat this to death or anything, but I think there's three (3) brackets. I want to be sure that you have all of the brackets. There is the one bracket that's goes to the back of the alternator, and two (2) brackets that go to the delete pulley. It sounds like your wobble may be coming from a missing bracket.

Yeah the belt thing is a PIA. I was able to get one to work after going through about 4 of them
