Country music:o If you play it backwards, he gets his wife back, his dog back and his house back... LOL:biggrin:

I don't even consider that country. It's more like pop if you ask me.

They sure like to use a lot of classic cars in movies and music videos. It must be a way of getting you to watch.

Looks like the Monte was a '72 model fitted with a late 70's smog engine complete with a Q-jet fitted with the anti-run on solenoid.

I've always liked the 1st gen Montes and wouldn't mind having one, albeit being 4000 lb + tanks.

they are tanks with a 6 foot hood, but my friend has a 70 monte with a 383 stroker, no A/C, just heater box, and it weighed 3700lbs! That was before the aluminum water pump:eek: i couldnt believe how heavy the cast water pump was.

There's a guy on Team Chevelle with a 1971 Monte that runs 10's in the 1/4. I believe he's running a 540 cubic inch big block.

That coffee would have been all over the inside the car the second he turned the key.

I used to have a '70. It was a rare car, figured one of about 450 made with a factory 402, Muncie 4-speed and a 12-bolt posi. I bought it with intentions of restoring it but quickly found that there's not much of a market for old Monte parts. It would've cost a fortune and I'd still have just a Monte.

Dunno why there's not much of a market. Those old 1st gen Montes were nice looking cars. But I'm sure most succumbed to being used for Chevelle parts. Biggest drawback is they weigh so damn much.

The guy that sold me mine made me promise that I wasn't going to part out the drivetrain to a Chevelle. Hopefully the guy that bought it from me didn't do that. You couldn't have bought that Muncie 4-speed for what i sold that car for, but I needed the $$ at the time and there weren't many people looking for Monte Carlos.
