they are tanks with a 6 foot hood, but my friend has a 70 monte with a 383 stroker, no A/C, just heater box, and it weighed 3700lbs! That was before the aluminum water pump i couldnt believe how heavy the cast water pump was.

That coffee would have been all over the inside the car the second he turned the key.
I used to have a '70. It was a rare car, figured one of about 450 made with a factory 402, Muncie 4-speed and a 12-bolt posi. I bought it with intentions of restoring it but quickly found that there's not much of a market for old Monte parts. It would've cost a fortune and I'd still have just a Monte.
Dunno why there's not much of a market. Those old 1st gen Montes were nice looking cars. But I'm sure most succumbed to being used for Chevelle parts. Biggest drawback is they weigh so damn much.

The guy that sold me mine made me promise that I wasn't going to part out the drivetrain to a Chevelle. Hopefully the guy that bought it from me didn't do that. You couldn't have bought that Muncie 4-speed for what i sold that car for, but I needed the $$ at the time and there weren't many people looking for Monte Carlos.
