After 10K miles. My cam went bad. I don't know why, maybe it was a bad batch. It was around a 216 to 218 duration but I can't recall since it was over 3 years ago...maybe more. It was a flat tappet style cam setup. My dad now drives the formerly silver turbo T around the LA area and for biz trips he visits us in Norcal.

Here's what the car looks like now...after a repaint from the local Maaco guy...

At any rate, the point of this story is he was driving back to LA (a 400 mile drive) and the #4 cylinder dropped out on him. We thought it was a coil pack. Then, I recall good ole Lou Czarnota lives out that way and hooked up a repair for him.

Lou found a bent pushrod and further investigation led to the discovery of the non-existent cam lob on #4.

In a matter of a couple of days, the car now has a new .216 cam and all I can say is a big THANK YOU to Lou for his help and quick turnaround. He would have picked it up on the same weekend but he was at the Rio for a poker tournement. My dad reports a slight increase in power by the seat of his pants. :) Makes sense, since the "T" was running on 5.5 cylinder for a several months.

I can just see your father smoking a couple ricers. ;)
