I read an article in one of my mags about a cam driven mechanical fuel pump good enough to run fuel injection systems and support up to 1,500 hp!

The website Race Pumps Fuel Systems

I sent him a e-mail asking if he does any for Buicks, ya know for our 455's, 350's even you V6 turbo guys...this is his response

From: HCSengineering@aol.com

We just haven't had enough demand for the Buick pump.

Thanks!
Howard Stewart

Didn't know if all of us to ralley together to get one set up for our Buicks.

Just a thought

I run a modified buick 455 HV pump on my v6 and I really dont like it.

all your doing is adding more load to that way over taxed front cam bearing.

I dont think its a good idea, and im sure others will agree.

with as much porblems as we have already running just the oil pump off the cam in the front why add more?

:rolleyes:A.j.

Reciprocating piston uses only 35 lbs. of pushrod force to create 50 PSI and 105 lbs. to create 150 PSI. The Edlelbrock conventional diaphragm high-performance pump requires 125 lbs of force to creat just 15 PSI!

This is from the website, of course for a small block chevy.

You can always use a belt drive pump. The one we use on our race car moves enough fluid to put out a fire. I believe it spec'd out at 50 gallons a minute. We had to slow is WAAAY down.
