Got a miss in my motor when I drive it.

I have brand new Taylor plug wires, AC CR43TS plugs gapped at .035, blue tops and 87 ECM with Thrasher in it.

The 87 coil and module are new.

I'm running 94 Octane and I still have my 85 MAF on it. I'm waiting for my Translator so I can use the 3" Impala SS MAF.

It idles great, rev it in park - no missing. Take it for a drive - its got a slight miss at low speeds and it increases as you accelerate.

Can't build hardly any boost (5 - 10 PSI) and it feels worse as you accelerate. Feels like crap.

Wires are on good and the plugs new.

This only happens in drive - not even giving it juice in park will cause it to miss.

Could it be the MAF ?
The chip ?

Checked the TPS - shes all good.

I wanna lean towards the stock MAF. I mean its good but I did the 87 ECM conversion w/o changin it....

Anyone support that theory ?

whats yer fuel pressure at? maybe u have it set to high

do you run Egr on your car?
if so, plug the hose going to the egr valve with sumthing,
like a golf Tee or something.
take it for a ride , see if it changes
sometimes that causes a lil miss. usually at part throttle

whats yer tps and IAc set at, if running the scanmaster

Check ypur fuel pressure to see if it stays steady and raises pound for pound with the boost
try the basic fixes before spending money on parts

cuz im sure each and every guiy on this page has gotten burned, thinking, replacing this or that part, is the fix
and it winds up being sumthing u just overlooked or never thought of.

:D

i notice we have almost the exact same car setup.

i see you run the thrasher, what do u set your Fp at for that chip?

reccomended pressure for that chip is like 43, and thats pretty high for our cars,
that pressure is for the intercooled cars, only

we use the same chip cuz we converted to 87 ecm, but we dont need hardly the same amount of fuel.

try setting your FP at around 38#
and see if it helps get yer boost up there

u might be dumpin too much fuel in there, and its not helping the boost, cuz excess gas cools down the exhaust temps.

my car personally likes around 38, :D

just throwing ya some ideas
anything is worth a shot !
