They are worth a little. I think Chris sells them for $75 for an AA code core.

I have one in a unit in the shop right now I'm trying out. I'll let you know how it works.

with a shift recalibration kit they both with produce almost identical ratio changes .the main difference is when the ratio changes occur.the aa body that was used with a 3.42 final drive ratio can be made to shift very similar to a brf.ie wot at 5200 rpms however the part throttle shifts are a little on the late side and they have a real long 4/3 backshift.

Soooo...using a AA vb doesn't sound very desirable. Who wants late part throttle shifts and long downshift? I have read many threads saying AA's are suitable but a reputalbe trans builder gives info that points otherwise...unless there is still a modification to address this....is there?

What are the available 2-3 shift valve-trains? I am trying to see if an alternative 2-3 shift valve can be put in the BRF VB. What I am trying to accomplish is increased min TV hysteresis, which is accomplished by the end land diameters of the 2-3 shift valve. I'm still wrestling with 2-3 shift busy-ness at min TV. (there are some gentle hills in my subdivision, and I hit the busy spot in the shift schedule almost every day)

Alternatively, I would entertain putting a heaver spring on the 2-3 TV valves, to raise the min 2-3 shiftpoint, so that the min TV shiftpoint requires more throttle/speed.

Ideas?

Bob
