I'm getting excited about getting my dads 85 GN back up and running. It was the GN that got me into them in the first place and am really looking forward to driving it again. I'm curious as to what i should expect out of it. It is bored .030 over with Trws, mild cam, ported heads with bigger ferrera valves, ATR headers/DP/up pipe, gutted cat, ATR 2.5" exhaust and all the fuel mods including 50# injectors. I've also modified a TA49 to fit on the car along with a ported throttlebody, and a home ported stock intake. The tranny has a few mods to go along with a mild 2800 stall converter. It also has a 87 ecm/translator/LT1 MAF etc... Provided it has decent traction and the tune is pretty close I'm really hoping for a 12.8-9 on low boost (17-18 psi) and possibly a low 12 on race gas and 23-24. Is this asking too much ? Just wanted to see what you guys thought about the setup. Hope to have it running in the next couple weeks once winter break gets here and finals are over with. If something isn't right ill be in here asking some ?s haha. Then it'll make its maiden voyage down the track, hoping to do the hotair guys proud. :cool:

Should be able to reach your goals. Not sure on how much boost exactly, but with race gas or alky youll be good to go. My little ta33 likes high boost, your ta49 should be more efficient. Hopefully you kept compression ratio around stock and didnt put 87 head gaskets on like I did with undecked 84 block :rolleyes: , only to make car a little sluggish [with probably something like a 7:1 ratio] :redface: . My car is heavy and never used slicks or race gas to achieve times in sig. Your setup is a bit more stout than mine so I would say DEFINATELY a 12 sec combo with room for more ;) Tune, Tune, Tune and keep the 60fts down... good luck!
