go to bulldogsecurity.com go under wiring diagrams and they will give you all the color codes there.

you can get the door lock wires from the relay behind the pass side computer kick panel

I'm not familiar with the Viper quality.

I will comment on the aftermarket unit installed by the previous owner: OOPS my computer won't let me type in that language. Easing up on the language - the installer of the after market unit destroyed my doors, which required expensive/extensive repair. See post "Ever Seen These Door Pull Strap Replacements Before?"

I recommend pulling door locks from the used parts emporium (junk yard) & at least you'll have quality.

and solder your connections don't use those @*!$# blue scotch lock 3m connectors

I appreciate the info, thats exactly what I needed.

So basic principle with alarms is that they just tap into factory wires? I had always imagined something much more elaborate.

1)get a diagram as mentioned above on your car and study it....because youll have possibly several ground/or positive leads to connect ,etc and knowing in advance will simplify the installation.
2)plan out componet placement ie; siren, shock sensor (put where you can easily adjust it),brain, etc.
3) hook up everything you can, ie; door switches- dont rely on dome light voltage sense. i always add trunk and hood switches too.....
4) take your time plan on all day if you have to.follow the instructions.connect one wire at a time.
5) hide the alarm.....how good is it if someone can look under your dash ands UNPLUG it?????
6) some hate electrical tape, but i love it and every wire/alarm harness gets wraped...why? to hide the wiring, make it look like stock

good luck take you time...and make good connections...99% of my bussiness is finding/repairing bad/loose/connections....

What features does your alarm have?

I had one alarm installed once, on a truck. It was a Hornet. It had starter kill and parking light flash.

Starter kill taps into the factory wire that runs from the ignition switch to the starter. On the Buick I think it's a 10 gauge purple.

On parking light flash it taps into the wire that runs into the parking lamp switch.

That's all I know.

holy cluster f%%$$#, LOL this is pretty confusing!!!

for the pop trunk do i need the transistor?

can the brain be installed upside down?

LOl.... no you need a standard relay for the trunk release. yes, the brain can be mounted however you wish...

is it possible I dont have a factory alarm? I cannot find a light green wire in either kick panel? anywhere else to search for this elusive wire?

yes,and the factory alarm is rare IMO..close doors and lock the car w/outside drivers lock...does securtiy light in cluster come on? if you do have the oem alarm, the lt green alarm disarm wire will be in with the power window harness coming through the boot/door jams.......
the oe alarm is a small black box above the emergency brake/footwell dome light....

Ok so the green wire goes into the door, located that, should i connect it either way?

someone had hacked in clifford alarm along time ago, so Im undoing what they done and trying to install this alarm.

When I put in the key in the ignition the alarm light does not come on.
(though I wouldnt be suprise if it does have an alarm this car comes loaded to the T.... I meant that pun!!)

I do have a box in the dash above the gas pedal. would it be that? Its pretty big.

SCRATCH THAT!! just checked my rpo sticker no UA6... talk about foot in my mouth... so does that mean I disregard this wire/connection?

on the ignition wire do I just "tap" into it or do I cut it? Instructions are not very clear?

You cut it. If you're talking about the starter kill. The alarm has a relay inside.

I dunno a whole lot about installing alarms ive watched a couple installls but if you cut the wire to run it into the alarm there should be another wire coming from the alarm to run to the other end of the wire you cut goin to the starter just like wiring in a kill switch....Viper is a quality unit also..and by the way you wanna consider hiding ur alarm and the siren even if that makes it a pita to work on that a thief dosent pop ur hood and clip ur siren wire to buy time..
