I have been chasing a high idle issue forever on my new Stage motor and finally I think I figured out the problem. I have adjusted the idle screw to try to dial it down some and after a point, I'm out of adjustment and cant get the car to idle under 1150 RPMs. I have messed with the FAST XFI and the IAC and cannot get it. Well I thought about it and figured out the blade in the TB wont close all the way. Anybody else have this issue with these? I may have send this puppy back? ---Jeremy

I just sent mine off to have the internals replaced. It should be arriving in a couple of days. I'll take a look when it comes in and let you know what I find.

If you are running a 200r4, check the TV cable. Make sure the cable isn't pinched or binding. If that is OK or not running a 200, then it is possible to tighten the up pipe hose clamp enough to distort the throttle body. HTH

Well this TB was like that before it even had a hose clamp on it. I'm going to try out a buddies while this one goes back in to Accufab. I hope this darn thing gets dialed in so I cna finally drive the car after 3 years of non -stop work and money!

Has your engine ever backfired?

I bent the throttle shaft in my 90mm Accutrash TB when my cam sensor went wonky. Kinsler fixed the problem with a new shaft and much better linkage. Can you tell that I don't hold Accufab in high regard?

No the motor has never backfired. I havent even had a chance o drive the car yet. Everything is new. Who is Kinsler? Maybe I should find a new TB?

If I were doing it over again, I'd start with a better part. I'd look at Wilson manifolds for a TB with a Wiggins clamp for the TB inlet to avoid a band style clamp. The band clamp can distort the body and cause the throttle blade to hang up.

The only original part left in my Accutrash TB is the body itself and it has been highly modified too. Start with a better part....and a supplier who cares!
