Here is a pic of my 85 T with a modified Accufab plenum
on an 86 intake with JS Mfg IC and pipes. This car has
been at BG several times and always draws a crowd, too.

Looking good! are those charge pipes aluminium or steel? Digging the UP pipe wrap.

The pipes are just the plain old exhaust tubing that JS used.
works fine, I just painted them for the time being.
I wrapped the uppipe to try to keep the underhood temps down.

I understand, They do look very satin fished aluminum though. NICE!
A/C on there even!

Yes! AC works along with cruise. I didn't set the car up to race. Too cheap!
Going fast with class as the GSCA says. Got to have AC!

Looks good....

You know I may copy your idea.... wait too late I already did. Anyway still looking good bro.

Sometimes I have the feeling we are not welcome in the "Hot-air" tech any more.

When boost231 is running 11.0s with a non - ICd car it makes me fell like a wuss for converting my setup over.

Oh well, just trying to keep my motor on its toes.

Your always welcome....but don't expect a pat on the back for converting your car over. After all you bought one thing and your trying to make it something else that wasn't intended from the orignal design. But your knowledge and anybodies knowledge is always welcome.

No it just means that you took the easy way out. It doesn't take rocket science to make an intercooled car run, but it does take time, patience and lots and lots of trial and error to make a hot air move. Most don't have the determination, skill or the money to continue to move forward. Obviuosly you have them all but hey your car your choice. Not trying to rag on you but you were thinking out loud and so am I.:D Just my .02 worth. At any rate I still admire your handy work and skill I just wish you would put that to work on a real hot air car so others can gain from it.

Waco,
Glad to see you aboard. This idea has been floating around for awhile.
It is cheap & easy, so that is the route for me! I am no mechanic, or
tuning geru, so i had to do it the easy way. I worked with Jay Williams
(TurboMotion) and JS Mfg when they were trying to work this idea
out and I thought the 86/87 intake would work and I finally tried it
and was shocked at how easy it is. A cheap, easy way to up the
performance of the hot air cars, IMHO. We can all have fun
with these cars, Hot air, alky, IC'ed - choose your poison, consistent
with your abilities, $, & goals! Drive on, I say!

I think both of you have nice cars, but I'm kinda with Pete on this. It really does take a creative mind to make a HA or a C/T car go fast. Converting it isn't a bad thing at all but to make one of the HA cars go fast is kinda the whole point, isn't it?
