Is there any way to intercool a hotair car without going to an aftermarket intake. I have no problems at all when it comes to making intercooler piping, i did it on my zcar and dont mind doing it again. I was figuring on having a tube TIG welded into the hole where the turbo spits into, then putting on a big 90 degree piece to plumb the intercooler. Whaddya think? is there an easier way?

Thanks guys - Evan

PS.. I have a Conquest intercooler taking up space on my floor so i just might try that one out. This will be a FMIC setup if I do bother to do it!

hey

if u can get a specro intercooler setup you dont need a different intake

Your idea sounds good. The spearco setup works with the stock intake but I hate the elbow that goes into the intake. I welded a 3" elbow onto mine. To make it fit perfect I ground down the back of the intake just a little and welded the elbow at a slight angle toward the firewall to clear any sized turbo you could stick on there. Don't forget to move the TB to the intake, right at the elbow if you want any kind of throttle response.

Exactly what I wanted to know! THanks. Also, my buddy has a starion intercooler. I am somewhat concerned it will become more of a restriction than a help. You have any thoughts on this?

I probablly wont run TOO much over a factory setup.
