Adjustable fuel pressure regulator question

My first post but have been reading for a couple of months since I bought an 87 Turbo T. I've been going over the car to see what I have and what needs attention and noticed today when I pulled the vacuum line off the fuel pressure regulator to check for 43 psi there was some fuel leaking out of that vacuum connection. I'm assuming this is not correct and a sign of a failed regulator? Although it was holding steady pressure at around 40 psi with the vacuum line connected. Sorry that this is such an elementary question, I have quite a bit to learn.

Fuel should never leak from anywhere. I have an old Accufab that works great, but I've heard the quality there has changed.

fuel at the vac port is a ruptured diaphragm and it should be fixed or replaced
depending on what you have you may be able to get a replacement diaphragm

Thanks, that's what I figured, was just surprised it was still holding the fuel pressure at or near setpoint. I'll have to see what regulator that is and look for a diaphragm.
