Adjustable Wastegate Question

To increase the boost, do I have to turn the nut towards the rightside or the leftside on the attached pic.

The nut locks the end in place. Loosen the nut towards the waste gate and then spin the end so it moves toward the waste gate and then hold that in place and tighten the nut down the end can't spin anymore. On turn should raise the boost about a pound if you have 1/4-20 threads. Basically, the shorter the rod the higher the boost.
