adjusted tv cable to help shift into 4th sooner. problem still exists.

I attempted to adjust on the tv cable to help the shift from 3-4t gear happen sooner but this just weakens the 1-2nd and 2-3rd shifts and does nothing to help the 4th gear shift to happen sooner. it still shifts into 4th at about 50-55. mostly 55 MPH. I also noticed thaty the adjustment tab on the Tv cable assembly is not the gold color but silver finish. could this be a replacement cable thats not installed properly and is there an adjustment at the other end of the cable where it mates up with the passenger side of transmission? HELP!!!!!!!
