I have adjusted my rocker arms on my car twice. I still have a tick on the passenger side. Someone sent me directions on adjusting(go 1/2 - 1 full turn after 0 lash.) So if I am going 1/2 turn now will I be safe going to3/4 of a turn? I don't want to flatten a lobe or damage any valves. Any help will be greatful. Thanks in advance.

It depends on the lifters. 3/4 turn is common. The hi-rev roller lifters (885's I think, I have'em myself but do not recall the PN for certain) take only about .002" pre load.

rocker adjusting

I have a flat tappet cam. I will try 3/4 turn to see if that will help.

roller rockers

No one else has roller rockers made by Scorpian? They are for the Champion Heads. I figured I would get more feed back than this.

The tick is still there

How do I check to see if a lifter is getting weak? I have looked at the rocker arms while someone cranks the engine and all of them appear to be moving up and down alot. Do I need to pull the intake? Can I do some other test? I turned all the rocker arms 3/4 turn past zero lash and I still have the tick.

Lifter Weak?

I know someone else has had this problem. Chime in anyone!

Sounds like it might be time to run the engine with no valve covers to find the offender and then work on that one.

Some lifters can take more pre load then others. One test is to run the engine so the lifters pump up then turn it off and when the valve is closed - lifter on the base of the cam - like when setting the pre-load, push down on the end of the rocker over the pushrod. The lifter should hold firm.

Any other issues? My new motor has the same rockers and would like to get it done right the first time. Thanks.
