I'm buying an AEM WB and have a couple questions that will help determine which one I get.

1) The 30-4100 has the digital readout in the middle and I was wondering what the lowest reading that the LED goes to as the outer face numbers are 11 to 18.

2) The 30-5130 is all analog and reads from 8 to 18.

My question is, I prefer the look of the analog gauge and the wider range that it has, but it would be harder to read at a glance.

The 30-4100 would be easier to read at a glance but it looks like the lowest it will read is 11, atleast on the numerical reading. I'm wondering if the LED readings will go into the tens or lower or is eleven the lowest that this gauge will read.

I'm on the fence and if I had a P/L it would be the analog all the way for my tastes.

Does anybody have the analog gauge and is it easy to read accurately or is the LED the way to go for on the fly reading and accuracy???

TIA, Robzombie.

I've got AEMs analogue WB unit & am very happy with it. Can read out OK for me. It gives me the look I was after.
Of course at a quick glance the digital unit would be more easily read, however......I chose the analogue because it more closely matched my VDO gauges which are all analogue & the face plates & needles look similar. I've also installed AEMs 100# analouge fuel pressure gauge which sits in the same cluster & is tied in to my PowerLogger for data logging purposes.
If my car was mainly used in competition, I'd probably go with the LED unit, bus since my car is really only street driven I went the other route. I didn't want the distraction of the bright LED lights flashing annoyingly at night and so have stayed away from them as I was worried my car would feel like I was in an airplanes cockpit.
Bottom line is they both work well, it's just a matter of personal taste. :)

That's one of the reasons I'm leaning towards the analog gauge.

Accurately reading it at a glance is more important to me as I don't have a P/L to look back at the data.

The LED center looks gimicky to me, but I'm old school. I do have a digital LED boost/flow rate gauge{W/M] in my 6.5TD and I've gotten used to it and doesn't it bother my eyes at night.

My wife hates them and covers my digital gauges in the burb whenever she drives it because they distract and annoy her.

I hope someone with the LED A/F gauge will chime in and let me know how low the readout will go as that will probably be the determining factor on which one I will get.

If it only reads down to eleven I won't buy it as I want as much range as possible, but reading at a glance and knowing accurately what the A/F is are the most important thing to me.

I just installed the 30-4100. Its great. To answer your question, it goes much lower than 11. When the gauge first turns on, it counts 0.00 and up. I have personally seen 10s and I know it goes lower. The digital screen is easy to read while driving and I have mine down low in front of shifter. Hope this helps
