It there a thread or site that anyone has seen that gives the basics on air fuel ratio and how to tune with afr gauge? Looking for a tutorial for a beginner.

thanks for the help.

Getting a feel for the variables affecting the combustion process helped me a bunch.

I view tuning the air/fuel ratio as part of combustion optimization. Do we also want to look at spark timing?

Innovate Motorsports has some decent reading on the subject.

This article discusses basics of the combustion process relative to air/fuel ratio.

Finally, this article explains the unmentioned reasons for richening the mixture (amongst other topics). It is written relative to carbureted aircraft engines. It is a very good article...I have not found certain revealing bits anywhere else.

Thanks for the help so far - I will check those out. I spent a little time searching the site for buick specific tuning but didn't have much luck. I thought someone out there may have written/seen something relating to this.
