Not getting any flare. It just seems that the car would lunge harder on the 2-3 shift before the mod.

Anyone else experience this?

What did you do to dual feed it? maybe you need to check clearances or more fluid volume to bring the shift back.

I didn't do the mod. Done by Jimmy's. Talked to a friend today who said he might soften the shift to keep it from sheering the shaft. I need to give him a call and see if this is in fact the case.

Yep, found out that's the deal. Apparently the 2-3 shift is softened to let the drum live.

Pros and cons.

You should always go with a billet forward drum when going dual feed. That will get rid of the broken drum issue.

The Pro is you dont need a hard shift. In the case of the 2-3 the hard shift you feel is a bind up. Thats what breaks parts. If the 2-3 shift does flair and feels like a slight bump all is good.
