I need another module and was wondering if anyone has luck with aftermarket modules. Where and how much.

This is often discussed. My take is if you need an aftermarket unit, I've had good service from Echlin brand via NAPA and couldn't throw a Wells brand from Auto Zone far enough away from my Buick; POS!

No reason to buy aftermarket

We can supply a genuine GM module for $155 shipped. There's no reason to settle for offbrand modules at this price!

Wow. I bought mine from a gm dealer years ago for $85. I am trying to do something I shouldn't do with mine. So I was hoping a cheaper aftermarket one would be a good test bed. Maybe I need to find a used one.

Brian at GBodyParts & John Dicarlo, alias "Red Regal T" generally have some good used ones available very reasonably priced. I bought 2 each factory ignition modules and coil packs from Tom at Gyrhead a while back and they cleared up some ignition issues that I was having. Thanks again, Tom for the excellent price, service, and shipping on my order.

You did well - suggested dealer list is $331.02

Can you even buy an aftermarket module for under $85??

A check of aftermarket list prices show a Standard Motor module at $228, Niehoff at $147, Borg Warner at $208, Carquest at $308, NAPA/Echlin at $301 and Wells at $241.

Carquest is $310 CDN for one at a discount "I often purchase parts" rate. List is probably close to $360 CDN so Gyrhead is bang on.
