Is there an expiration date on slicks? I've had a pair of MT 28x9 ET Drags since 2005. There's plenty of tire left. They spent a year or two in Colorado and then been stored in a humid shed in FL most of the time. They were always aired down in storage.

We judge a slick on how long it takes for it to smoke on the burn out. When the tire gets hard it takes too long to get smoke and heat(no we don;t do big burn outs). This is a sign th tire compound is getting hard.Durometers did not tell us anything and readings from one manufacturer to another are diff.Hope this helps.Just sayong.

Actually most tire builders will tell you a year but dry rot starts in 5 years depending on storage issue, but it depends on your objective, there are products to soften tires up just be careful with them use gloves and let cure in well vented area.
