I am about to install a set of Airlift 1000 airbags in my rear springs. The instructions call for the tube to exit at the bottom for most GM vehicles. This seems to make it likely that the tubing is at much greater risk to damage from exhaust and snagging than exiting the top through the hole in the frame. There would be virtually no chance for damage using a top exit as it could be attached to the frame all the way to the bumper with clips.

Is there a downside to exiting the top of the spring through the hole in the frame?

Thanks

I run them. They exit though the bottom. Just watch where you route the lines , you will be OK.

I Never had a line fail on me.
