What do ya use to replace the vented cap on the stock overflow reservoir? Is there a GM replacement? P/N please.

paul

If you're using the new tank from Razor, it's not air tight and does not need a vented cap. (I just happened to call and ask him this very question moments ago during my install)

Anyhow, there is allowable air movement between the Low Alcohol sensor and the tank and the lid is not 100% airtight as well.

As far as the mini overflow goes (if you purchased one), there is a small hole punched in the tank just above the cap to allow the tank to vent. It works fine because I've had mine in for a few days and there has been no problem with liquid movement in/out of the mini overflow tank.

Hope this helps.

Sealed cap is from a 1991 Cavalier :)

I guess the question I should have asked is do I need to use a sealed cap or just keep the vented cap that is on the rad overflow reservoir?

If I need a sealed one, what is the P/N?

Thanks, paul

I'd use a sealed cap with about a .010" hole in it.

Slightly vented.

Stocker is way too vented.

Non-vented cap

You can get one in the "Help" Isle at AutoZone or Advanced, right Razor?

I doubt your low level float (if you have) will be completely air tight to the reservoir, so you will have some venting there, I do.

I would think you would want something to have a little ventalation to help flow wouldnt you? It would be like trying to poor gas out of a can and trying to maintain a steady stream without backing off the vent cap......I dont know just a thought
