Alright 93 just went up to $2.20 a gallon in my town today:mad:
and i was wondering if it would be safe to run 87 and alky with moderate boost maybe 16psi or 17psi

well it will probably be that high here before to long so back to the question have any of you guys experimented with regular gas and alky and what did you find? KR reading? performance?

Haha, you americans are spoiled when it comes to gas price... In Sweden we are paying around 5.20 dollars per gallon... So stop yelling, lol.

I spoke to Razor yesterday, and he is in BG changing head gaskets on his car because he tried to run 87 and alky and got some detonation. I'd try 91 and alky, but no less. I run 93, and yes, its expensive. But cheaper than 116!

I put on the DIY Alky kit on my daily driver so I could use 87 gas and save $$$$.

When I put it on I was able to get up to 21#'s of boost with knock starting around 100 mph. Brought it down to 18#'s and no knock at all with 87. I have the alky turn on at around 3#'s of boost.

Saving about $7 per tank running 87 rather than 94. Right now in Ontario we are paying $4.31 Canadian for a Canadian gallon of 87. 94 will set you back $4.86. OUCH.

BTW, since I'm so cheap I use washer fluid for the alky. :D

87 octane w/alchy

If using one of Razor's PAC units-anyone know how many miles a gallon of alchy/methanol will last while burning unleaded regular 87 octane?

HOW

It really depends on how heavy your foot is. The more you're in it the more alcohol you're using.

It also helps when your machine shop does their work correctly and doesnt give you heads with a warped surface back to you. Mine were off .007.. so a few degrees.. poof.

The car on 87 will tend to knock more, my buddies drove their Buicks there on the stuff and were constantly hammering on them. But not serious WOT blast's down the track. How well will it work? Dunno. Every one of our cars is different.
