Looking to make 600-650 horse in a street car can I just run just the alky kit or should I spring for the intercooler too? Gonna be daily driven and on a budget! Any advice?
Thnx

you need a good intercooler like a RJC unit or a precision stock location unit and alky

What kind of car?
How much boost?
What displacement?
What size turbo?
What fuel will you be using?
What engine management?
600-650 on a budget?

72 vega. 109 block billet mains and studs, ported 8445 heads, roller cam, twin turbos. 14 point cage mini tubs and 325/50/15 MT et street radials. Looking for a single digit street car.

With iron heads to make 650 HP will take more than 25 PSI boost.

So yes on the IC. A small one is fine with the methanol.

A single turbo will give you more space as there is less plumbing. And for 650 a simple 62-67mm turbo will get you there.

Lol sounds like something my ex would say.... Wich is probably why she's the ex haha
I'm doing all the work myself and swap meet and Internet finding parts and deals... Can't afford to pay full price for parts

IF E85 stations are around you, might want to consider that and run the Alky as the intercooler. Save you $$ and custom fabbing something into your engine bay.

Budget minded...
I would just go with a large single turbo, skip the 2nd turbo and use that money on a upgraded stock location intercooler with a Razors Alky. That should get you there if you follow the path others have already blazed for you to reach that power level. That setup should fit in your engine bay without any custom IC piping/fabing. Easier setup, should be cheaper for sure. Don't know that the desire for a twin turbo is...off the shelf TB parts can take you to the limit of the 109 block. Why go through all the hassel and expense of trying to use 2 turbos??? Cool factor??? Put twin turbo emblems on the fenders to impress the import guys then.

Good luck...

I was told two smaller turbos would spool faster and make more boost sooner I can do all the plumbing and fabrication myself so that's not a problem.

twin turbo has a lot of non-budget issues.

Example MAF is one,
Tuning is second,
Cost of two external gates, cost of electronic boost controller for those gates, cost of stainless steel to fab the headers, cost of flanges, etc.

You mention the word budget then blow it out the water :D

If your planning on getting a FAST to tune the motor, pay for the TIAL gates, and the stainless.. and drop the word budget.. then you'll be in line.

Stock Buick IC = budget. As well as stock headers and plumbing. The expense and heartache will be the down pipe. Run a Stock MAF, and an 86/87 Buick ECM.

Dont even think of blow through

Search for Grumpys setup, that went 9's in a dd regal. The 60' times should convince you that spooling is not an issue with the right combo & tune. A TT setup will cost lots more money, compared to a single turbo setup not to mention time/agrevation surely needed. If I had a V8, the TT would be a consideration.
