Still having big trouble trying to tune this alky thing. I am getting 60 psi at the gauge on the SMC tank, so I know it is pumping. Have the pump speed at 10 because I was told that my spray on light may not be coming on because I had the pump speed too low. When I hit the test button while giving gas to 2500-3000 rpms in park, my knock guage lights up into the red:eek:  What's up? Also the spray on light will not come on till after about 2-3 seconds of pressing the test button. Anyway, I think I have the turn on point around 10-12 psi because that is about where I am getting knock, as in yellows and reds on the knock gauge:eek:  Scanmaster shows anywhere from 810's to 850's with no knock or less than 1.5 on all runs:confused: Why does my spray on light only come on after the system has been spraying for 2-3 seconds? This can't be right. Am I drowning the spark? Is that why I am getting lights on my knock gauge like I am? Help please:confused:

Your kit has a pressure sensor that sends a signal to the controller when its pressure threshold has been met. In other words..the pump is spraying even tho the lite is not on...for a moment.

easy tuning for alky is set your pump speed to 5 ,set your turn on point to 8 lbs..run the car without blowing the tires and see how it does. Also FP needs to be turned down usually 1-2 lbs becuase the alky "is a fuel" boost at 20 lbs with a low timing chip(street)

Try this and let me know :)

Yeah, it sounds like rich knockto me. I would turn the pump speed down to something reasonable(~7), and raise the spray-on point to ~15psi or so.

darb everything you posted sounds like the regular problems people experience tuning these systems. The small 'transitional' knock (or flash as Razor calls it) is normal al long as it is slight.

One rule of thumb is the turn on point should be 2 psi before you normally see knock. Once you establish good runs with no knock, and no stumble (flooding the plugs) you can adjust the fuel pressure (a little at a time!) to get your 0-2's closed to .800 at the top of third gear.

Take things slowly making small changes a bit at a time, and you should be fine. :)

Ya cant set turnon too high else you'll be in knock city. On a stock car running let say 20 lbs of boost..pump speed will be 5-7 and I always found best results with turnon set around the 10 lb mark.

The flash I talk about is if the boost climbs faster than the alky is sprayed..If you unload the car..spin tires then your boost guage pegs instantly..it takes time for the alky pump to come on..fill the line, spray, get into your combustion chamber. its not an instant thing. This is why turnon point is so important..and can be a problem setting.

FP down a 1-2 lbs, then start at a 5-7 pump speed. street chip 18-20 degrees. This will get ya close most of the time.

Cars that have heads, cam, extra flow are a bit more troublesome to dial in.
