WANTED TO SEE IF ANYONE IS RUNNING ALKY AND NITROS ON A GN. I AM CURRENTLY RUNNING RAZORS ALKY KIT (BY THE WAY THANKS FOR THE HELP AND BADASS SETUP). AND WAS KICKING AROUNG THE NITROS THOUGHT. WITH THAT WANTED TO KNOW PROS AND CONS OF ADDING THIS WITH ALKY, I OBVIOUSLY KNOW TOO MUCH NITRO AND MY MOTOR BECOMES SCRAP METAL, BUT LOOKING MORE FOR THE PROS AND CONS OF IT WORKING WITH OR AGAINST THE ALKY ETC. THANKS.

I had a nitrous kit and was too chicken to try it. Guess if the power the motor is making is approaching the limits of the bottom end(heads, cam, big turbo, etc) adding nitrous can only exceed that and the broom comes out.

Altho for spooling a big turbo.. not a bad idea. And I doubt a 35-50 shot would pose any issue.

Only time i've was there to see someone use it with a turbo app was on a dodge 4cyl. At 465 it was running very rich and he hit it with a small shot.. it leaned the motor out and went to 500.

I have customers with SC apps that spray nitrous and alky. On the Buick.. I have no data. If you decide to play with it, post your results.

As Razor said, the only good thing I have ever used nitrous for on a buick was to spool a big turbo. Had a car with a 70 mm. turbo and a 3000 stall. It would run a 1.9-2.0 60 ft. launching on the minor 6 psi. it would make on the brakes. It would run between a 1.54-1.61 60 ft. spooling the turbo to 6 psi. on the brakes and then hitting it with a 50 shot to get it out of the hole. I had the nitrous on a button on the streering wheel, but it was grounded through a hobbs switch that stoped the nitrous at 15 psi. wether I was still holding the button or not. I liked it for those reasons and never hurt parts with that setup. I was using a wet kit, btw. Drew

Actually I think nailheadpowered was refering to adding nitromethane to the alcohol (methanol) as in Top Fuel.

I know it has been mentioned before but I don't know if it has been tried. I honestly don't see what it would hurt if done in small quantities of maybe 5-10%, but how much would it help is the real question. If you really know how to tune and are totally maxxed out with what you have, it may be worth trying just to get that extra tenth or two, but the potential for problems is definately there if not done carefully.
