what octane do you guys use with an alky system?
should i only use 93, or will c16 be better?

What are your goals?

Just cooling, octane/fuel enhancement, etc.

Typically we do 93 octane and keep upping the volume as the engine needs it.

But I have customers that run on C12/C16 and use the alky to drop IAT temps.

well. i just bought another buick.. and it has it on it..

im going to pm you

on my hotair i run c16/alky while at the track and pushing the car hard.

i also run 91/alky on a safe low boost tune and mild timing

on my intercooled car i run 110/alky when pushing it hard.

and 91/alky with a safe low boost tune and mild timing

im thinking i need another nozzle.. i think my car can go low 10's or high 9's

dual nozzles if i remember right are needed at over 130 ish but every car is different. as far as to much volume i dont think so. when people go to a dual nozzle they usally go to a m15 and a m10 setup.

You need to go through the system and make sure its working correctly.. at that point make the decision on the nozzles and such. You didnt specify whether it was my kit or someone elses.

If its mine, just make some time and call me and i'll guide you the best way I can. This stuff is hard to do over keyboards/internet.

julio, just wanted to say thanks for the pumps. they worked great this year at the WCN. o and another thing. i thought my initial was at 10 oclock. try 9  anyways put it to 12 and gain on 8 and the pump test at 250 :)

Attaboy.

how much is the upgrade to a dual nozzle?

Single nozzle should be fine for that car. twin nozzle upgrade is only 35.

Gotta learn to walk before you run, twin nozzles are harder to tune.

man.. been a long time since i owned a buick.. around 1999.. lots more stuff available now.. the last car i had, had a precision built motor from top to bottom, went 8's in 1/4

91 octane and have run up to 29.1 PSI of boost. Not that I like to do it.

My "street" tune is 25 PSI, 23/21 timing, 91 octane wal-mart gas, and 100% meth.

im on 24lbs 100%meth and 93 octane. would like to run probably 30lbs of boost on the track

If you increase boost and it doesnt go faster, back it down. Thats just my own experience. So run it at 24 see what it does.. then go 25.. then 26.. should keep on picking up. If it stalls out at a MPH.. then careful.. next time it will lift the head.
