I was just thinking about the install for my alky kit (if I decide to do this). I read the thread where someone hooked up the 'power injection' light. That was pretty trick. I was wondering if anybody had thought of this. Instead of having a gauge or seperate light for low alky level, is there a way to make this 'power injection' light flash when your level gets too low?? The way I see it, you'd be using one light for two functions. That way, if you're in the middle of a pass and your level drops below a certain point it'd be an idiot light to tell you back off before your alky runs dry at 20+ psi of boost. Likewise.. you'd have a little friend on the dash bugging you to fill up before you blast off again. I was thinking of this as an add-on for a DIY kit.

I'm not an electronics expert. But I just thought it might be another 'trick'.

How much do you think it'd cost to rig such a deal? Any tips of what I could get from GM or Radio Shack to do this?

I have my power injection lite hooked up to come on when pump sprays. I don't see a problem with hooking up the float switch also to the 12V side of the bulb. It only activates and stays on when you are low on alky. In fact, I'm going to hook up a low alky warning lite soon. I picked up the float assembly switch from an 89 Eldo. Although I never ran low on juice, having a warning lite can't hurt. All you need is the float assembly and a bulb socket that fits in the power injection socket and some wire. Minimal cost. ;)

Low washer fluid light works for me, separate bulb and can be hooked up to the float stuff.

Power injection when on, low washer when low on alky.

They use different triggers so you gotta know whats up with them. :)

Thanks for the tip..

John,

You said that comes from an 89 Eldo?? Are you talking about the low windshield washer fluid tank?? Sounds like a run to the boneyard is in order. Minimal costs.... :D

Salvage V6,

That sounds like a good alternative if I don't try this flashing light.

Thanks for the ideas.
