Alky Pump Location

Ok, I've been trying to clean up some underhood clutter and shorten my alky hoses. Maybe this is old news but, I noticed that on the Shurflo pump mounting plate, if you pop out the rubber grommets on one side, they line up perfectly with the bumper mounting studs. What I have done is mount my pump on the driver side bumper bracket (my reservoir is on that side, use the other side if you use the coolant overflow bottle), and it tucks up there very neatly.

VIN7, the timing is great. Just looking at a place to mount my pump. So you don't think it is necessary to use the other two rubber grommets, it won't cause the pump to rattle too much?

Where do you drill holes for the other side?

BTW, where is your reservoir mounted and what type are you using? Thanks for the tips.

Paul,

The other side is not attached to anything. Once you tighten the nuts down, you'll see that the mounting is very rigid. I used blue loctite on the studs. I suppose you could shoot some sheet metal screws into the bumper support (I have aluminum) but I really don't think you'll have any probs with just the two mounting studs.

I have a Jaz Junior Dragster fuel tank. Its 2 quarts and I have it mounted behind the headlight opening. I got it through Jegs, there is a picture in the catalog.
