As the title states just have a couple of questions when running methanol. The first question is can you run methanol year round or is it necessary to clean the reservoir and pump occasionally? The second is do the plugs typically stay cleaner longer when running pump gas and methanol? I am aware that running leaded gasoline fouls plugs quicker than unleaded fuel but on average can you get more dependable miles out of plugs running methanol? I have heard many opinions about changing plugs before heading out to the track(non methanol opinions).

No problem running it year round. If you never filter the alcohol going into the tank, I'd probably clean the filter out every 15-20 gallons.

If your engine is in proper tune.. leave the plugs alone. Stock heat range is fine, gapped to .032 on a Buick application.

If the motor is on the ragged edge.. change plugs frequently, as you would anything else on such an engine.

Oil changes will become more frequent with elevated boost levels. You cant run 25 PSI everywhere and expect oil to stay clean 3,000 miles :)

Sorry to hijack but how would one go about cleaning the filter that goes to the nozzle that you supply in the kit?

TIA!!

Take it apart with some wrenches, blow it out backwards, put some tape on the threads.. tighten it back up.

Piece of cake :)

Thank you Julio! Knowledge is power and I just like to be in know. In my experience it is better to be proactive rather than reactive.:D

P.S. - Good tip on the cleaning of the filter.
