With the blue know almost maxed the car ran 115.3 mph (full pass). The next run, not a full pass, I picked up 3 MPH in the 1/8 by spinning the motor to 6000+ (should have run ~118). Ok here's the question, once the blue knob is maxed I should turn up the "initial" and turn the blue knob back down. Right? I know every car is different but turn it down about how much?

The alcohol is used to suppress knock. If it aint knocking.. the alky is doing its job. If its knocking.. then you need to evaluate where your at air fuel wise.

If you have proper air fuel, knob is cranked and you see knock.. then it is time.

did you change your chip with the new setup. those injectors are going to be screaming for a change with the roller cam, heads and intake. the chip needs to be calibrated to the setup. you could be running lean and compensating with alky. i would say the alky is doing its job but i think not for long. your time and mph is telling you that you are not even close to be maxed on your set up you should be running a low 11. what is your readings at wot. you should see if you duty cycle is maxed. i see that your boost is 19 and your maxed on alky.

Then its time to do what I said. Turn up the initial knob and turn down the blue? In your experience how much does one "typically" turn up the initial and down the blue? I'm not looking for an exact spot just a ballpark.

Of couse my chip is calibrated for the motor. I'm not running lean if I was I would have said that. Like I said I'm close to maxing with the alky's "out of the box setup up". I'm looking for direction, once I'm maxed then what?

The MPH listed doesnt support more alky. Single nozzle kit should support mid 120's.. I mean.. if you must.. turn the Initial from 12 to 1 o'clock and turn down the blue gain knob. that may be too much of a hit of alky. So watch your performance.

If you want to get more precise, put a pressure guage on the line going to the nozzle using a T fitting. If you see 180-200 PSI alky pressure, then you are maxed out. Then it is time to increase nozzle sizing to bring down the pressure and keep the flow.

If pressure wise your at 70 PSI for example, the kit is no where maxed out. But doesnt discount poor electrical connections, pump issues, etc. Even still at 70 PSI it should support 115-120 MPH.

i would still be leery of 009's with your combo that is running the ragged edge. a te60 with stock heads is maxing out at low 11's. and with a roller that demands more rpm and ported heads and intake those injectors will max out soon if not now. just my opinion. i was pushing my 009's with a ta49 and running mid 11's. like julio said with that mph you arent even close. just tyring to help here as for the chip i just asked i am not saying your an idiot. there are alot of people that dont do that

Are you running a 50/50 of E85 and 89 octane with the 009 injectors?
I'd be curious what your Injector Duty Cycle is as with the E85 in there it's going to eat up that small injector fast and I can see why you'd need more alky.

With that turbo and E85 helping out I'd only add more alky over the maxed out setting if you need it for fueling due to small injectors for now.

Good times though, it's moving.

I agree 009s at higher RPMs get sketchy.

I'm using 20% E85.

\not just that you have ported heads and intake which will eat up your duty cycle. as for e-85 i forgot about that it takes more of that to make the same power so again with the duty cycle. you should be using 93 octane. you would probably would get a better tune!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are the track results

60'----1.675

1/8---7.376
MPH--94.37
1000--9.623
1/4---11.514
MPH---119.72

Both runs full street trim, no tune, 89 & E85 mix with meth, and 18 psi. Car is flying! More left in the alky and injectors. Bottom run 02s thru the traps (5700 RPM) dipped into the .71  No knock.

I cant wait to get new injectors and turn it up.
now i can sleep thanks:biggrin:
that car you have is a 10 second car easy at 23 psi there is no way those injectors will keep you together. that .710 at the top and you still got heads you can thank julio for that.

10 sec :D. I never said I was going to run 23+ psi with the 009s. I'm glad you can sleep now. Julio's kit keeping engines together at .78 O2s.
