Those of you that have mounted your SMC bottle in the trunk... how/where did you route the braided line to the engine compartment?

Did you go thru the interior and firewall?

Did you drill a hole in the trunk and go underneath the car?

Or, is there some existing hole that you used other than the above options?

TIA,

Joel

Routed the lines inside the passenger frame rail from the trunk all the way to the engine compartment. Tie wrapped it into place at various points along the way.

Yup. At the bottom of the spare tire tub. Used a small holesaw, removed the burrs and installed a grommet. Then passed my hose and wiring through there.

Thanks DMAN. Do you have any problems with the alky being "primed" and ready to go?

Did you buy the line kit from SMC or buy one local. SMC sells 16' but I am not 100% sold I will need that much.

Thanks for the response!

No trouble with priming as I use a check valve in the line up near the engine compartment. Have 100+ psi ready to go at all times.

For jobs like these, *always* get more line than you think you need. Can save you time and hassle. Nothing wrong with have a few extra feet of line in your toolbox for repair emergencies.

I believe if you route the line as DMan did where it can't get chafed or cut, a length of rubber fuel injection hose will be fine.
I've been using it for my kit for 6 1/2 years and the hose is still fine.

Good point. In fact, I wrapped my line with an outer cover prior to threading it through the frame rail. Black plastic electrical conduit goes on easy and gives you an extra layer of protection. Fuel injection hose, while pricey, is a good bet. I use a variant of that - 5/16" Goodyear high pressure tubing for industrial applications.
