I just installed a SMC kit on my TTA last week, and now I have some time to tune it. I have a 44 turbo, 40# injectors, THDP, walbro, AFPR, and direct scan. I have a 110 "race" chip that has 26 deg of timing, or my street 93 chip that has 20 deg of timing.

Would the best way to tune my car would be to start with the race chip and low boost until it knocks, then turn it back? Or is the 26 degrees too much for the street, and should i just run the 20 deg chip?

They are Joe L chips that I got a couple of years ago, is it rated 110 just because of the high timing?

Thanks,

Alky works best on low timing high boost. At least in my car. High timing can work..it just puts thing to the edge..where you really dont want to be if a problem arises with the tune.

So until you get the low timing chip dialed in..dont mess with high timing.
