I run 1300* cruising 60mph. At 1450* my car is a complete dog. I picked up about 4 mph going from 1400s to 1600s last time I was at the track. We are also running 8.5-1 cr, and 25+ lbs of boost at 23* timing.

As long as I don't get knock, I keep turning up the boost. My car runs best in the 1600 range. At 1400, it is a dog, just like BLACK6PACK says.

Thats the diff...ours are 10.5:1 and we run usually anywhere from 6 psi to 11 psi boost. But why is it that youre considered max safe at 1600 degrees, and we're considered max safe at 1450?

Crusing at 60 mph in fifth gear produces EGTs of only about 800 - 1000 F.
