I am going to be buying one of Razor's alky kits,is a bigger intercooler needed or will a stock intercooler with a duttweiller neck be suffient.I now that in the begining GM was going to put alky injection on our cars instead of a intercooler, but decided not to because of warranty issue's.So would the Alky compusate some what for the smaller (stock) intercooler. Thanks ikle.

I'll be running a stock turbo or a te44, if and when the stock turbo craps out, I want to run mid 11's if possible.Thanks,ikle.

An option

I have a Charged Air System (CAS) V4 stock location intercooler. It works well for me. You may be able to find a used one through the board.

I'd just get the Dutt Neck. Very cost effective and will free up more air.

I see in your signature that you have 60#'s. I'd skip the TE44 and get a GT6152/6262 turbo with a really good converter(3000 stall). I'd be saving for a trans rebuild since you will need it after you start adding HP.

You should be able to meet your mid 11's goal on a conservative tune.

Won't get mid 11's on a stock turbo without CRAZY boost, high timing, radical launch, yada yada.

Get a TE44 (if you already have it) but like Joe says, skip it and get the 61 for the same price, get a dutt neck, and spray alky. Mid 11's all day.

ikle, the trans should be your main focus especially if you want to run mid 11's.that d5 on a 61 series turbo will spool terrible, the 44 with a garrett.63 maybe liveable.the alky will get it done with a dutt neck.

Dutt neck is good for a while, but a intercooler like PTE's stock location will give you much less of a pressure drop while the more rows make for better cooling. It will really maximize the efficiency of your turbo, whichever you go with.

Alky would be the best bang for the buck right now for you.

Heck, with the alky and a 6262 you'd have 11's all day long till you break something! The dbb billet wheel version like mine would work ok with a stock converter.

I'm sure you'd be happy with the alky kit for a while, even with a stock turbo.

a 44 and a d5 will run mid 11's,definatly cheaper than a billet wheel with dual bb.i am now running a 62/65 bb from a 49 i don't think it would work with a d5.alky ,a 44 with a d5,dutt neck, totally cost effective 11 second combo.

Stocker is plenty for mid 11's.

Its all the other things like tuning, tires, transmission, suspension, etc..

Fastest stock turbo car ran 11.37 on a dutt neck IC, 92 octane, alky kit.

Lots of timing, lots of 1st/2nd gear boost, great weather, car is tune.

Easy way, get a restalled D5 like a 2800-3000 and a small turbo like a TA49/TE44 and work out the bugs.

Thanks for all the info,I have only been a member for a short time and all the info and responce from you guys makes life alot eaiser for a novice like myself, this site is AWESOME.Thanks again, ikle.

Since you're not looking to keep the stock turbo forever or push it into the mid 11's you should do the Dutt Neck and Alky. Alky wins over an intercooler, simply put, which one can run more psi with pump gas, Alky.

If you wanted to go after the 11.3 stock turbo E.T. record, then I'd say ditch the stock intercooler and run that puppy up to 30psi without issue. Alky and E85 are a sweet combo.
