I've done research and read that alky has no long term effects on the motor itself. Just curious how long has anyone ran alky on one particular motor?

Thanks

About 6 years and around 50K miles.

No reason to open it up yet.

Street car daily driven.

Had a kit pump upgrade in 2002 and that was the longest two weeks of driving ever.... no alky.

Almost as bad as driving with no MAF sensor for a week.

Red Regal T has used it a long time and many more miles too, not sure how often he takes his apart tho. :p

I've actually heard people that ran water/alky took the head off for whatever reason and the engine showed almost no signs of carbon deposits anywhere when normally the same amount of miles will have carbon buildup that's noticeable. This leads me to believe it offers a steam cleaning effect on the engine and may actually even be better for them in the long term. Nothing official though, mostly hearsay and opinions.

The only downside I could think of would be unburned alky moxing with the oil accelerating bearing wear. But keep in mind if you've got your foot to the floor there is gas doing the same thing, so adding alky to the equation really doesn't matter. That's why alot of us will change the oil after a long day at the track. Keep your oil clean and you're in good shape.

Biggest effect from alky...big grin all the time :D

Everything stays clean when using alky. So no carbon buildup.
