.......since no one uses them anymore! Can't believe how no one signals anymore. Went on a few errands this morning and I would say maybe 1 out of 10 drivers I saw used their turn signals when making a turn. Is everyone really that lazy???

Here in NJ it's a defensive tactic. No one wants to give away their next move for fear of someone using the information against them.

How can you use a turn signal when you have a cell phone in one hand and a Starbucks in the other?
That doesn't apply to women who have a cell phone in one hand and makeup in the other.

Now that's funny! I know it's true for those of us in really congested areas, but I still think people ought to use signals. The only reason driving is more dangerous than flying is because pilots follow the rules to the T, whereas drivers do whatever they feel like doing. If people signaled lane changes, stopped at red lights and stop signs, yielded when they are supposed to, etc. driving would be the safest mode of transportation. Oh well, I guess that's all a pipe dream.

Just this morning I had noticed a GEORGIA plate up here in Yankee terratory.

First thought came to mind when I saw him cross 3 lanes with no signal was another idiot. but this one doesn't belong here (GO HOME)

I caught up to him & was behind him at red light. We are both turning left onto another road. After we get going & turn, he changed lane toward the out side to the left (no signal again).

I go by him in center lane & signal to go right lane myself. In my mirror I see him cut back over 2 lanes behind me (no signal again).

I wonder if he got to his destination without killing someone.

Turn signals have been an option on cars for years! Where you guys been! I always order my daily driver without the turn signal package. Saves the carpet from me spilling something on it!

I love the guy in the middle lane with the left blinker on for miles and miles.. you come up on him doing 80 and wonder if now is the time he's going to do a lane change.. and he does!

Turn signal usage in NJ is directly proportionate to the cost of the vehicle.....


.......the more expensive, the least likely the blinker will be used.

One of my favorites is when you see someone that does not use their directional, and then they wind up directly behind you. You signal to change lanes, and they jump in that lane before you can and try to pass. When that happens, I wait a bit, and then drift right into that lane. After all, I feel I am entitled. I signaled, and they didn't, therefore, they have no right to be there. If I am driving my truck, then I wait even longer. If I get the sign of approval(horn/finger) then I slow down, because afer all, they want to say something. I love doing that :smile:

C'mon Mark, this is CT. :biggrin: Everyone here thinks they are more important than everyone else. Why would they use turn signals? That would be too safe....and much too kind!

Yes, that is one of my pet peeves, also. It just shows no consideration. Like "wagon" said, it's really a safety issue when you start to change lanes, use your turn signal, then someone falls in behind you without letting you know with their signal.
I'm not sure why a lot of people don't use them anymore. It must not be emphasized in Drivers' Training or something. It's discourteous and dangerous. I'm glad someone else thinks so, too.

LOL. That's so true. In NJ, it's not just turn signals that aren't used. It's also red lights and stop signs that aren't "observed".

I can't stand it. I always say to people "Excuse me, but your turn signals aren't working...I'm going to have to cite you for unsafe equipment." "Oh no! They work, see?" "OH! In that case I'll write you for failing to use your turn signals!" :tongue:

There Is Only One Reason Why They Dont Use Them Its Because,thier Stupid And Traffic Lites Well They Are Just A Suggestion. In Las Vegas Blinkers Are Not Equipped On Cars, That Is A Dealer Add On

I love it on the highway when you move to the middle lane and the d!ck does the same without the signal and its your fault.
