It's more like sellers are tired of the ridiculous LOWBALLING from people now which is at it worst level ever so the seller gets fed up and keeps the car.

X3!

I have a few that are not for sale but would be if the price was right. It seems that when these cars are being sold at fire sale prices every buyer assumes that all the TR's should be that cheap. Don't get me wrong, I love a good deal. But if you take the time to calculate that amount of money it takes to build a "reliable" and "well-built" car it isn't cheap. Heck, decent paint jobs are in the $3-5k range alone! At least $1k in a decent transmission, Who knows how much $$$ in a rebuilt or modified engine. Then there's suspension, exhaust, wheels, tires, etc... Then there's all of the nickel and dime stuff, the small pieces that are hard to find or priced like Diamonds.

This stuff adds up quickly. Buyers are failing to understand that just because some people are in desperate need and are giving their cars away, there are a bunch of us out here that have cars that would be for sale but for the fact that buyers are expecting all the cars to be given away.

Just my .02

Wait, are you seriously stating that when you sell a GN/TR that you should be able to get all of your money back out of it? BWAHAHAHAHA!!! These things aren't that rare yet! Keep it holed up for another 20 years or so and you'll be able to get every cent you spent on it back from a sale, but that logic makes no sense right now. All you're doing is creating the image that GN/TR owners are hoarders and only care about the money instead of the hobby.

Maybe you're confused.

I didn't say that these cars where that rare nor am I saying that TR owners are hoarders.

What I was trying to illustrate was that while these cars are a hobby for us, they are also an investment. Yes it's fun to play with these cars but it's also nice to be able to at least break even if the need to sell arises.

You make it sound like some sort of crime to break even or worse yet (gasp!) make a profit on a TR investment.

How about this? Do you own a TR? If you do, do you think that you'd accept an offer for half of what you have into it? Of course not, unless you were desperate for cash or simply foolish.

We don't invest all of this time, blood, sweat, tears and money to give it all away. It doesn't make any sense.

It's foolish to think you'll ever break even with a car. If you attempt to sell it for what you've invested into it then you will never sell it. I thought this was common knowledge? Nobody here drives God's chariot so we will all take a hit when we sell our cars.

Common knowledge to loose money? I haven't lost money on any of my cars I've sold. I might not make a lot of profit but I can always at least break even.
