My problem is i bought a bracket a year agoi cleaned and painted it today i tried to install my alternator and the alternator is too small. I compared it to another bracket i have and it is much smaller than this one. I dont want to go through the trouble of having to paint the other one but what can i do. Is there a bigger alternator to use for this bracket. Did someone sell me useless crap. Did these cars come with two different brackets. heres the pic
TIA Rudy

Rudy- Better start painting part number 25516691 B. This is the correct bracket as it matchs my spare. Somebody most likely ripped you off. Brad

Nope, sorry Brad. The larger bracket is for the higher amp alternator that came on some caddys with the 4.1. Turbofish posted the info a loooong time ago about this and that's why I've got both right now. If you want to upgrade to the high amp alternator you're good Rudy, but if not then you need to clean and polish the other one.:)

If that is it he should be able to use the intercooled alternator thats probably what that brackets off of.

Well here's a pic of the 2 brackets I've got right now and other than the alternator area they bolt up the same ect. Just don't know the alternator of the top of my head.:)powdercoated parts.jpg

You can use the alternator from a caprice cop car / taxi. I did that upgrade to my hotair. You use your already pretty bracket and go down to Autozone and buy an alternator for around $15o for lifetime warranty.

It is around 140 amps and mine charges 14.3 - 14.5 at idle with every accessory and light on.

Thanks guys I happen to have a few LT1 parts here. I was always an Lt1 guru for a long time ever since i did my install in my 78 malibu about 12 years ago.I also made my own wiring harnesses using new connectors and wiring. Its all changed now and im now trying this turbo regal stuff, and have found a lot of interest in it.Well I hope that I can finish this car by summer, and will keep asking you guys for help along the way.THANKS AGAIN Rudy

I wish you all the luck in the world Rudy. Mine was suposed to be running this last year but you know how that goes. Hopefully it'll be ready for the power tour this year.
