Did a trans service on my car after going to the track on Thurs pulled the trans pan and found this square looking piece of friction material. :(

So i decided to pull the trans and investigate tore it down then same more of it under the center support, Finally found the alto wide band peeling strips of friction material :(

Looks like the friction material never bonded to the metal, the trans has about 5000 miles on it shifts good has alto clutches in 4 ,direct ,and fwd.
I hope it was just a bad band .

Guess the alto bands are so good that even with material missing they still shift great . :D :D

if your purchase was in calif and im in ny i think this is certainly a problem.we lost a few transmissions in our test car because of this.if i remember monday ill contact alto and inform them.the alto product is great with this exception.it apperars to be a bonding problem and im sure they will look into it they are a great company so far

Yep i bough it from alto in Vernon, CA went there and pick it up direct from them.

WOW... wouldnt have expected that to happen. Ive got thost in my Galaxie... shifts great, but i havent exactly dropped the pan yet. :D

I haven't had any trouble

And I got 400 of them in stock.
We have had only one two years ago do that and Eric Schertz had it.
Other than that, no problems. I am sure either Alto or I could take care of that band for you. I will warranty it for you if you so desire. Just call the shop.
