after 5,000 miles in a customers car our experimental direct clutch apply ring has shown itself to be a very important addition to the hi performance 2004r transmission.this ring is installed into the direct clutch piston and eliminates the factory installed wire ring .this improves heat transfer from the clutch pack to the drum.this was the main reason for its creation .secondly it applies the clutch more evenly by distributing transmitted force equally into the lower steel plate.a GREAT improvement in clutch apply has been noted from the beginning.also it fits tight into the piston so no need to worry about it spinning in the drum.it has been kept to a minumum based on the witness marks it has left behind in the piston.we will cnc turning them soon and they will be available shortly.we are currently working on a new overdrive piston as well.

I'll be up for a few of those Chris.

But who will get them to market first!!

Will it be sonnax {performance catalog #6, page 12} or will it be CK. MMMMM, i'm pulling for my buddy chris!!

I have about 50 of these apply rings in stock. They will work in forward and direct. They are CNC billet alum. Will post some pics tonight.

We have been making these...

And using them for awhile now. They work great. I have been making them for Vinny and others who have asked. Russ Merritt saw me make a few and he was impressed.
They work well and serve a purpose.

It is kinda ironic ain't it? With all the metal they are taking from this country, maybe it should be. ( With the metal piston in the middle) LOL
Tell ya what.... You send it to them to see if they will change their flag and if they do we will split the royalties....ROFL

On the serious side tho, We have been making these for about 5 years or so now. I just don't tell "Everybody" some of my little "tricks". ROFL
I was smart enough to Date write down the dimensions and sizes and material and have notorized and stuck in a safe deposit box if ever needed. Now why, I don't know.
LOL
