I'm looking for a used set of aluminum heads in good usable condition. Anyone have a set for sale or trade??
Make sure you research them,they are not all created equal.
Some of the earlier ones were supposed to be very porous, and some had rocker stand problems,cracking,warping, problems etc.
Maybe some of the guru's could point out the things to look for or avoid. Pics of failures etc. would be great too,if someone has some handy.
Info like, about what year they started getting better, and any other info that someone looking for used aluminum heads should know.
I plan on putting them on my next car or engine build too.
Sorry to hi-jack your thread ,just figured i would point out there is some problems with some of them and usually the aluminum heads are coming off of high hp engines also ,which means they really need to be scrutinized .
