I posted an ad on ebay:
GM 6.5 DIESEL TURBO FUEL INJECTION PUMP
REMOVED FROM A 2000 C3500
CORE HAS BEEN STORED INDOORS AND IS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE.
YOU WILL RECEIVE THE ITEM IN THE PHOTO.
THIS IS GOOD IF YOU WISH TO KEEP YOUR PUMP AND SEND THIS IN AS A CORE,
OR AS SOME FOLKS DO NOT TRUST THE MASS MARKET REBUILDERS CAN OPT TO REBUILD THIS UNIT LOCALLY AND HAVE ZERO DOWN TIME FOR THE VEHICLE. THIS IS NOT A JUNK CORE.
SHIPPED USPS PRIORITY

A guy hits "Buy it now"

I get a message:
Buyer: hello , ask you 6.5diesel injection pump still good working and running when take out c3500 and did you before check up test injection good run then take out injection pump let know me asap thanks

me: I have no history on this pump I was given it to me by a friend but it is from a newer year and my truck is older.
He put a new pump in his truck and put this one on his shelf then sold his truck later. He gave me a few spare parts.
Now my truck is wrecked and I am selling all 6.5 diesel parts I have.

Buyer:okay i want know working running diesel injection pump ? yes or no just want make sure thanks aspa let know me
me:I would say NO, it should be rebuilt since my friend replaced this pump with a new pump and the pump I am selling has been stored on the shelf for 5 years.

Buyer:bad injection pump ? need rebuilt ?
me:I do not know anything about it, it was given to me. I cannot tell some one it is a good or bad pump-- the sale was for a CORE. You do know what that meant right?

Buyer: okay I want my change mind remove my item and cancelled I will give feedback posstive and good everything thumbs up thanks

me:Do you realize you have caused me some problems now?
We cannot just forget about it because I will be charged money by eBay becuase they think I made money now. I have to send you a request to cancel the sale and you must respond that you agree to cancel the sale. I wish you would have been more careful and read the advertisment because no were did it say it was a working pump.
And now the other people who were watching the item could have bought it now no longer see it there!

Buyer: sure thanks please send me cancelled I will responed I will feedback give you posstive

I dont know why I bother sometimes, I think I would be better off collecting cans on the side of the road for extra money.....

When I think it cant get worse..... I get this from Ebay:
The buyer, d***95, has rejected your request to cancel the transaction for . As a result, you will not receive a Final Value Fee credit for this transaction. Please complete this transaction with the buyer

Ive been buying and selling on ebay for 13 years... mostly selling... and I worked for eBay as a manager. Because of cases like these ALL my items are "buy it now"... with immediate payment REQUIRED. Sometimes u can call ebay and get that final val fee credited. Worth a shot... they can see all ur correspondence with buyer.

The problem is ebay is used world wide. So many stupid effing scammers out there that make it hard for honest people (yes they still exist) to sell things. I read the question and the buyer is either illiterate or from another country. hell probably both. Its just like Craigslist, if its not bad enough the effing crooks in our own country, we have to worry about the "i am stationed over seas and would like to buy your item for my sick dying child. I will send you twice as much of what you are asking. Just send the rest back to me".... blah blah horse shit.
your add was very specific that it is a core. I think the so called buyer is taking usable oxygen from the world.

I see why eBay sends out those "list your item frreeee" emails . I'm not sure why anyone sells on there with what they charge. I bought a trans sprag for $1 and $5.60 shipping bargain if it is new as seller described.

I've never sold anything. I listed a few things years ago, but what a whip. Definitely not worth the hassle.

Judging by his grammar, my guess is that either english is a second language or they just plain can't read.

I don't think he was a bad person just unfamiliar and hindered by a language barrier.

All ebag cares about is getting their fees. And C/list has really gone downhill in the last couple years. After getting around 60 people inquiring about
a car I had for sale and sending a total of 600 pics to them, only 5 people came out and looked at the car. These were all local people, a number of
them made an offer thru an email, before looking at it, so I told them there weren't serious buyers and to go waste someone else's time.
The most annoying email I get from c/list scammers is the one's that I get 5 minutes after I post an add...."Is it still for sale?" I'll respond with, "No
dumb ass, I sold it 30 seconds after I posted it"!

NEVER reply to those emails... they just want to get a response from u... because now they know ur email address, they know its used.... and will add it to their list of emails that they SELL. FYI. If the buyer doesnt refer to ur specific item... then 9/10 times... their building an email list.

Thank you. Unfortunately I found that out the hard way! I put about 10 different adds up one
day for camaro and chevelle parts and got mails quoting my adds word for word and saying they
would buy it. Then, the spam started flooding my inbox! I've been trying to me more careful now.
:)

craigslist works well !!! but you do need to watch out for all the spam I get spam email and texts. I always list my phone # and that helps . also any texts quoting your ad is also bs. i'm not a fan of ebay because they favor the buyer too much even when the buyer is dumb or rips you off. my brother is a electronics genius and sells old toys on ebay and bikes etc... he had a working texas instruments speak and spell (like in ET ) it worked great all he did was put a battery in it. well long and short of it the buyer said it didn't work and returned a broken 1 not my brothers. guess who ate it? another time he sold a 80's bicycle $300-400 it was forsale to only usa buyers and a guy from Australia bought it and shipping was a disaster. he had to split up into several boxes then shipping was more than he figured. he mailed the wheels then they got sent back . long and short of it he lost his ass on shipping and the bike never left his house. etc..... I hate the fact that they bought paypal and force you to use them. ebay also owns a percentage of craigslist too. so i'm waiting til that's no longer free.

can you get paid on ebay by any other way than paypal? square perhaps? does anybody know?

Ive had good luck with Ebay. But I was selling new diesel truck parts. I sold hundreds of parts with no issues. Selling used mechanical parts is hard to sell there.

I did have 3 problems buying items all three were misrepresented and Ebay was vey difficult to deal with, but once they fully understood the situation they got resolved. Be persistent, eventually you will get someone on the phone who will help you. I know how frustrating it can be.

I have 100% Positive feed back.
