I ordered the repair strap from G-Body parts.com and when I went to install it, I could not get the converter high enough. It seems like the starp is too short. After using a jack to raise the pipes and then connecting it when I went to lower the pipes it was putting too much stress on the hanger to the point of almost bending it. Is the straps from them on the short side or is my exhaust installed wrong. Has anyone else had this problem.

Nothing against G-body but,

Go to NAPA and purchase the largest exhaust hanger rubber they have. I believe it is for a Dodge diesel pick up. Fold it in half, drill two holes in both ends of the rubber (for the two rivets on the tranny side) and one hole in the fold (for the single large rivet on the CAT side). Use new sharp drill bits and replace the rivets with stainless bolts and lock washers from the hardware store. Everything will hang secure and properly.
